I switched off completely from this election.
I switched from in depth articles in the broadsheets and on Radio 4 to biographies and Talksport. I simply couldn’t bare the choices. Couldn’t stand the fiction.
I switched back on again immediately it was over and became fascinated by how it was won and the role of Marketing.
As I waded through the way that the political parties approached their marketing I was reminded that it was Bill Clinton who made sure he was not tempted to stray from the central theme of his 1992 electoral campaign by continually reminding himself that ‘it’s the economy stupid’.
'It's marketing what won it'
It's the experience that will win it next time
The big switch off...
